Call for Proposals of Participants for 16th Theater Art Research Forum for Children and Youth

Dear theatre experts! It is our pleasure to inform you that International Festival of Children's Theatres Subotica (Serbia), in co-operation with the Theatre Museum of Vojvodina from Novi Sad (Serbia), is organizing an INTERNATIONAL RESEARCH COLLEGE OF THEATRE ARTS FOR CHILDREN AND YOUTH conference for the sixteenth time.

On the Topic of: DIFFERENT APPROACHES TO ESTHETICS IN THEATRE FOR CHILDREN AND YOUTH

16th Theatrical arts research forum for children and youth at 32nd International festival of children`s theatres Subotica opens possibilities to discuss different directions of theatrical practice and different approaches to theatrical esthetics which enables further development of theatre for children and youth. Theatre arts creators are building theatrical event in different forms of space: in a box, outdoors, in nature, in a classroom while using different elements: scenography, light, props, speaking in a usual or unusual way, trying to provoke events with psychological, sociological or culture related goals. A movement of a participant in a stage event, whether we talk about actors or puppets, additionally contributes to different approaches to theatre esthetics for children and youth.

Discussion on different approaches to esthetics of theatres for children and youth opens possibilities for various interpretations of the phenomenon of theatre and its numerous forms that are provoking reactions of young and the youngest audience. This kind of perception is a new experience and those who are responsible for it, are adults. The delicacy of theatrical act encourages the young audience, as well as the researches to interpret the phenomenon, which puts theatre in a special place among other arts.
