The Barrell by Isidora Sekulić seemingly has no dramatic plot, but it possesses a vibe, a message, nobility and a protagonist with a goal: to overcome a family tragedy using imagination and optimism of childhood. The character of a girl literally plays with old, discarded things using them to create places, characters, and vehicles. These days, it’s imperative for children to learn modesty and develop imagination so that anything can become a toy for them - Cutlery, an old jacket, a wheel, bags... In addition to encouraging children to live in harmony with nature and environment through thematic and choice of materials, the play’s creative team tried to leave as small carbon footprint as possible. That is the reason vintage objects from the theatre's collection were used in designing the play, proving that recycling - among other things - can also produce art.
