Aladdin and the Magic Lamp is a contemporary, original Bulgarian musical for children, families, and audiences of all ages. Inspired by the golden pages of One Thousand and One Nights, the production tells the timeless story of an ordinary boy setting out on the path to maturity. Aladdin – naïve, uneducated, and easily swayed by temptation – is drawn into a dangerous game by the powerful sorcerer Kadar. Yet the encounter with the spirit of the lamp changes his fate. The Genie proves to be not merely a servant fulfilling whims and wishes, but a wise guide leading him towards spiritual and moral transformation. The musical brings together original music, live singing, contemporary choreography, beautiful puppets, and vivid stage design to bring the audience into a world of marvels, where flying carpets, genies, and princesses coexist with human frailties and hopes. Beneath its spectacular form lies a deeper story about the lure of the easy road, about trust, love, and the strength of inner change.
