The Immigrant is a work full of funny moments, although it tells a sad story. Teatro Firulete has set out to reach the heart of the viewer through simplicity, and, from there, manage to put the focus on a sensitive and current topic. The Immigrant has no time or place, although the aesthetics are rather linked to the migratory movements of the early 20th century. In this way, we can enjoy the work without the need to establish direct connections which makes it easier to approach the subject from emotion and not from reason. The music - the "xamuli" - the manipulation of the puppets, the lights and the scenery embrace this proposal with all its expressive charge.
